Evening ladies and gents, Firstly let me introduce myself, my names Ziggy (it is actually my real name) I'm from Merseyside and I'm a Student and Special Constable with the Police. Anyways, over the past few years I've found an (healthy) interest in firearms and shooting (i lived in Canada for a year, so have a little experience in pistol/rifle), specifically the 'old west' scene (hence how i found this site) =] So basically, I want to get involved, I would like to take part in shooting events and buy myself a lever-action rifle (Henry or Marlin), a single-action 6'er and a good ol' coach gun, and obviously become a member of this wonderful society =] Only issue with this is i'm not certified...I know there's no issue with getting a SGC for me, as I've issued a few myself (been asked to help carry out home checks), and I've filled the app out already and have referee's etc. My only concern is applying for my FAC, obviously all of the shooters on here have theirs and I was curious as to whether any of you had issue regarding your 'good reason' during the application process, was stating 'I intend to shoot as part of a club, specifically a historical action shooting team' enough? I know i'd see it as enough, but i'm not sure the pencil pushers down at HQ feel the same way... Any help/advice you can give me would be really appreciated as i'm really eager to get involved =] Also, has there been any events in the North West? Or are you planning on holding any? Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me =] | |
